The list of wines that we tasted:
Ladoucette Sancerre 2013
Chàteau d’Angludet 2008
Hospices de Beaune Pommard 2008
1 – Ladoucette Sancerre 2013 is a white wine from the town of the same name, located on the left bank of the Loire River. We know that the main grape of the white wines of the region is the Chenin Blanc, but in this place, to the East of the Loire, there are lands rich in clay soils, suitable for the cultivation of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Its vineyards result in wines with more intense aromas.
The Sancerre tends to be less herbaceous than the Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and more concentrated, with a more spicy acidity, than the Sauvignon Blanc of Bordeaux.
The breeding of goats has been a tradition in the Sancerre area since the 16th century.
There is a cheese, the Crottin de Chavignol, which comes from an emblematic area of the Loire, where there is a diversity of vegetation and climatic conditions that are crucial for the development of the flora that mildews cheese crust. The size of the Crottin de Chavignol, a small cheese, is linked to its history, because the amount of milk produced by goats was not enough to make large cheeses.
The white wines of Sancerre can be accompanied with goat cheeses like Crottin de Chavignol that is produced in the region. Also you can pair with different types of fish such as salmon or trout.
2 – The Château D’angludet 2008 was a pleasant surprise for everyone. It is a wine from the region of Margaux, with an intense red colour and with red fruit aromas, pepper and leather, very well balanced in flavor, with soft tannins. We loved this wine for its finesse and distinction.
3 – The Hospices de Beaune Pommard 2008 showed the power and charm of this wine from the Côte de Beaune, with faint red colour, notes of cherry and raspberry in nose, and in mouth, soft with little astringency.
Hospices de Beaune is the famous hospital for poor people established in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor of the Duke of Burgundy, and is now a Museum in the city of Beaune, the main wine-growing town of Burgundy. Hospices stays of its vineyards and the wines it produces are auctioned at the end of November each year.
4 – Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos 2006, a gold-ambar, apricot and honey–scented Hungarian wine with taste of honey and caramel.
It is known that the Tokaji Eszencia were the favourite wines of the tsars of Russia in the 19th century and now it is still keeping its fame and distinction.
They can complement a dessert or it can be taken as aperitif, accompanying the foie gras or a blue cheese like Roquefort.
Yesterday I met to eat and taste wines with a group of young entrepreneurs who have many years enjoying wine… good wine. They are: Alvaro and Moncho Menéndez, Klaus Rothlaender, Marcos Mastretta, Juan Carlos Sconfianza, José de el Castro, Ricardo Coghlan and Juan Pablo Huerta.
